Yeah, that's definitely neglectful. Neglect is kind of a form of abuse in itself, I think. It's damaging, whether they're emotionally and/or physically absent/neglectful.
Thanks! I'm glad we all chose not to be that way too. We took it as an example of what not to be. I wish we could have escaped the addiction part of it, but oh well. It's better than being an abusive asshole.
My sister has never done drugs though, and she rarely drinks. Well, she has tried smoking weed a few times, but she didn't really like it and decided she didn't really want to do it anyway. But she has never touched anything else. I am SO happy about that. The boys didn't escape it. My big brother used to do drugs with me, but not regularly. And he doesn't do any drugs anymore. He doesn't even smoke pot. He's a bit of an alcoholic, but he's the type who is able to drink in moderation. Well, once he learned how to do that anyway. But Jeremy and I were hardcore drug addicts and alcoholics. I can't even have so much as one sip of alcohol, let alone any drugs. Ever. It sucks sometimes, but whatever. It's for the best.
