Hippie Medicine

Do any of you guys know of any vitamins or not entirely crazy herbal supplements that help with energy? What about ones that help with sinus issues?

I need some type of energy booster besides caffeine. I just never have energy. I slept in really late today...as in I got up two-ish hours ago, and I'm already ready for a nap. Low energy is the norm for me a lot of the time.

And as for the sinus stuff...when it comes to well-known/mainstream remedies, you name it, I've tried it. The Neti pot/bottle (just sinus rinses in general), nasal sprays, and medicines only do so much.

Personally, I've found a B-complex supplement helps with energy a lot. I take a multivitamin daily anyway but supposedly the birth control pill drains a woman's body of b vitamins and I've found taking a B-complex supplement in addition to my multivitamin not only stops breakthrough bleeding for me on the pill (HAHA I know that's not a concern for you) but also boosts my energy levels quite a bit. I also think a little bit of time spent in the sun helps too (this coming from UK weather where I spent pretty much all of January under cloudy skies and didn't see the sun at all for a month, no exaggeration). I have a sun lamp now and that has made my energy levels skyrocket, which has been helpful.

I know you have a difficult time sleeping but I think if you cut the caffeine, it would help regulate your sleep a bit better. I don't know how much soda/coffee you drink now but try to ween yourself off it to at least reduce it to maybe something once or twice a week instead of multiple times a day.

Forgot to add I don't have sinus troubles so I can't help there, sorry about that!

We have some B-complex supplements, because Jenny takes them. I'll start taking them too. It's nice to know those helped up your energy level. That's interesting about birth control pills and B vitamins. It obviously doesn't affect me, but it's still interesting. I didn't know that. I'm pretty much never in the sun. Even when the weather is nice. I've heard people say things about sun lamps and sleep. Do you just use it as a regular lamp or what? I know that's kind of a stupid question, haha. But I don't really know anything about them.

Once or twice a week?! I don't see that happening lol. I could probably manage once or twice a day, but once or twice a week? I don't know about that.

I have an energy-saving super bright light bulb in my ceiling light to try it out before getting a "proper" sun lamp. That has been helping a lot so far. The sun lamps you just sorta prop it on you desk or whatever (they're not super big) and leave it on for about an hour a day and that's supposed to be super helpful. They're a bit pricey though which is why I tried just the light bulb first.

lol I know caffeine is hard to kick but even reducing it some (even if it's down to once a day) should help your sleep.

We have those energy-saving really bright light bulbs in most of the lights in our house already. Are you talking about those twirly ones? How much are sun lamps? I need to research that stuff, because I need to do something.

It would be insanely hard to quit. I think it would be even harder than cigarettes, to be honest. Maybe I'll try just drinking it once a day in the morning.
